Featured Workshop: Threads of Identity

Threads of Identity is a storytelling and media literacy workshop that invites students and communities to explore how identity shapes the stories we tell, consume, and share.

At the heart of the workshop is a simple idea:

A story can be true and still be incomplete.

This workshop helps participants examine whose voices are included, whose perspectives are missing, and how stories become more honest, specific, and human when identity is allowed into the frame.

Stories Shape What We Believe Is Possible

Storytelling is not just creative. It is cultural, personal, and political. Stories shape who feels seen, who gets heard, and whose experiences are treated as meaningful.

As a former journalist and filmmaker, I have spent years thinking about how stories are framed, who is quoted, who is left out, and how media can either flatten people or make room for the whole of them.

My approach is warm, practical, and deeply human: thoughtful enough for complex conversations, structured enough for classrooms and organizations, and accessible enough for people who may be exploring these questions for the first time.

Experience Across Media, Education & Community

I bring together experience in journalism, film, live hosting, facilitation, and community-based storytelling.

I have hosted in broadcast and live settings in both English and French, including Jean-Baptiste Day celebrations and CityNews Connect specials, and have created a body of work centred on culture, identity, and community.

My background also includes more than ten years of teaching, giving me a strong foundation in confidence-building, creative expression, and working with students of different ages and learning styles.
