story & creation
story & creation
You don’t need a better story.
You need one that’s clear, grounded and true to what’s actually happening.
I work with people and organizations who are doing meaningful work — but struggling to translate it into language, visuals or content that feels honest and coherent.
This isn’t about branding for its own sake.
It’s about making sure your story reflects the reality of what you're trying to achieve.
What This Work Looks Like
This work happens inside existing organizations or initiatives.
Story & Creation often begins with clarity — not cameras. Before anything is filmed or published, I help you:
identify what actually matters in your work
name the tensions, constraints or contradictions you’re navigating
clarify who the story is for — and who it’s not
decide what shouldn’t be said publicly yet
From there, we shape the story in ways that feel intentional rather than reactive.
This Work May Include
Depending on scope and context, this can involve:
Narrative and messaging strategy
Website and brand storytelling
Documentary or short-form film
Cinematic video for digital platforms
Editorial direction and content frameworks
Campaign or launch storytelling
Media preparation and narrative readiness for public-facing moments
The throughline is always the same: care for the people involved, and responsibility for what the story sets in motion.
This Is Best For
founders and creatives
community organizations
advocacy or funder-facing work
teams who care about credibility
This is a good fit if:
You’re struggling to articulate your work clearly
Your public presence feels misaligned with your values
You want content that feels human, not performative
You care about credibility more than reach
How I Approach Creation
I come to this work as a filmmaker and former journalist.
That means:
I ask different questions before I create anything
I’m attentive to power and context
I don’t flatten complexity for speed
I think about how stories will be received — not just how they look
Good storytelling isn’t just compelling.
It’s trustworthy.
Outcome
You won't just have content. You'll have:
language you can reuse and stand behind
visual storytelling that feels intentional
a clearer sense of what your story is — and where it’s going
Structure & Scope
Story & Creation work is rarely a one-off.
Most of the work I do happens through retainer-style engagements, where I support ongoing clarity, creation, and decision-making over time.
This allows space for:
thinking before creating
consistency across platforms
non-reactive storytelling
work that evolves as context changes
Shorter engagements are sometimes used as a starting point, but ongoing partnerships are where this work is most effective.
Typical Engagement Ranges
While scope is always confirmed through conversation, most Story & Creation work falls into these general ranges:
Short engagements / focused strategy: low four figures
Monthly retainers: low to mid four figures per month
Special projects or campaigns: scoped as needed
Fees reflect time, responsibility and the care required to do the work well — not just outputs.
If you’re unsure what structure makes sense, that’s completely okay.
We’ll figure it out together.
